Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Our Winter Wonderland view. First annual snowfall in the Lower Mainland. The local mountains have been getting dumped on for the last month and it finally came down here.

Don't think people will be sitting out in the court yard today:)

However, anyone wanting lodging to come and enjoy an epic alpine season give us a call.

Grampa's tree is standing strong through all kinds of weather.

A Long Awaited Visit Part I

On October 20th we flew out to Ontario for our much needed vacation. It had been two years since our last visit and we had 5 new members of the family to meet.

Our first stop was to the Toronto area for our friends Mike and Marta's wedding. Their wedding was a cultural first for both Aidan and I. Mike and Marta are Polish so their entire wedding and reception was in Polish, even the live band at the reception sang in Polish, it was fantastic and a wedding we wouldn't miss for the world. I felt as if were in "my big fat greek wedding" only Polish style.

While in the Toronto area we stayed at Aidan's sister Chris and her boyfriend Logan's place. This is where we were able to meet the first 2 members of the family that we hadn't met yet. Somehow we made it home without a picture of Chris and Logan but we did get pictures of Lexi and Stanley, the new additions.

Both Lexi and Stanley are very small parrots, they are both incredibly smart and you have to be carefull with what you say because they do copy you. Lexi is the blue one, she entertained us for quite a while on the kitchen table playing with her ball and attacking a pencil. Stan is a little more outgoing and social, as much as Chris and Logan are training him, I think Stan has done a great job in acutally training them, it's great. Between the two birds they have more toys than an average child, there is nothing wrong with spoiling your animals.

After our visit we were on our way to Cornwall, where the rest of Aidan's family lives. Our time was spent the best way possible, with family. We decided that this visit we wouldn't do a lot of sight seeing, instead we spent more time visiting.

The Dream is ALIVE

Some background to the picutures we posted yesterday.

March 2005, Aidan and I purchased a condo. A new house to call our own and take the next step in life, a mortgage. Apparently building Condo's takes a long time because there are 74 miniature houses in the one major complex. The due date of completion was between February and June of 2006, the builders gave themselves a 5 month buffer.

As most people can attest to when building a house, it's actual completion date is always late. It's been even worse in the lower mainland with the shortage of trades people and the multitudes of houses, townhouses and condos going up all over. Gone are the days of driving past a farm or an empty field.

4.5 months past the June due date, our dream is coming alive. On Thursday September 28 Aidan and I did our walk through to note any deficiencies. We brought an army, My Aunty Beulah, Uncle Jeff, Cousin Greg, Aidan's boss Drew, Aidan and myself did the walk through. Most spots were merely cosmetic. We did however have a really ugly pipe sticking out of the celing; it was a sprinkler pipe with the sprinkler uninstalled. They'll fix that one for sure.

Our official move in date is October 26th, however we will be in Ontario for a long awaited vacation, so we'll move when we get back October 31 at 9 pm. Due to us renting and not getting back in time to move out and clean, Aidan and I will be moving our stuff into storage and then into our new place when we get back. The cats will stay at the house because it doesn't take much to move them out in time.

So please, now when you look at our last post and see the pictures of our walk through; envision that space only a couple of weeks away from being transformed into our house and a place for Aidan and I to call our own.

Our Family

We would like to introduce you to our girls, Abby is 3 1/2 and Emma will be 2 in the middle of October. To our mom's, they don't have any grandkids from us but they do have 2 beautiful grandkitties.

This is a typical Abby pose for the camera, chilling out and relaxing. Abby has taken on the role as queen with her sister and can usually be found in her bed watching over the house. You can score big brownie points by offering her treats when you go to the kitchen.

Emma, is our crazy cat who lives for attention. Her greatest attention getter is playing fetch with the rubber wrist bands (the livestrong kind). Emma's the cuddly one that loves when new people come to visit.

Another Ferry Ride

A Visit out West

A beautiful day at Shannon Falls, Squamish, BC with mum & Dave on our trip to Whistler. Just one of the picturesque days we had during their visit.
